My first blog posting, a reflection of my experiences with projects we have done thus far. I even want to state my opinion about future projects. First, I would like to share my experience with the portaportal. I do think that it is a good organizing tool for keeping up with websites to know where you get information. It helps keep up with good lesson plans and activities to do in your own classroom. My downfall is that I don't know if I would actually use it. To me, I can just bookmark commonly used websites to my favorites online and use the websites from there. If I were to stay super organized in that aspect, I would probably use it. I guess we will see. :)
I do like this new thing of using blogs. I have always heard of people using them and a lot of my friends who have just got married use them to keep people posted on how married life is. To me, using blogs would be good for the students to reflect on projects in the classroom. They can look at each others ideas and do a lot of collaborative learning. As for myself, I think teachers having blogs is a good way to reflect on their teachings for the day. Instead of writing it down, why not use technnology? I definitely can see me using blogs to reflect on my lessons and figuring out what I can do better or change for the next go round.
I am pretty excited about learning how to make websites. I think that I will have a lot of fun designing it and having the knowledge of it will help me to create one for where ever I get a job. Besides making hard copies of information to parents, a website with the same information not only makes sure the information is provided for parents, but also for people who still like old fashioned paper and who use computers all the time. :)
I am learning a lot in this class and look forward to learning more! :)
